The swift is a medium-sized aerial bird, which is a superb flier. It evens sleeps on the wing! It is plain sooty brown, but in flight against the sky it appears black. It has long, scythe-like wings and a short, forked tail. It is a summer visitor, breeding across the UK, but most numerously in the south and east. It winters in Africa.(link)

This will be a hard bird to photograph as camera takes to long to focus.

Flying over Settle

Boating Lake, we were at Otley show. 5/6/ birds.

We have had a lot of rain to day, in the evening as another storm was coming a large flock of Swift flew over the garden, there was as many as 30+ never seen as many..

Saw my first swift of the year today, two.
